Since 1934 opera has been performed at the magnificent country house of Glyndebourne, which is situated around 8 miles from Riverdale House. We are able to arrange for transportation to the opera and recommend the Alfriston village store for picnic hampers.

This year's programme includes L'incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Albert Herring by Britten, Bizet's Carmen, the first ever performance at Glyndebourne of Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel and Love and Other Demons by Peter Eötvös.
